ISLAMABAD: Ali Riaz, the son of real-estate tycoon Malik Riaz and presently the Chief Executive Officer of Bahria Town Housing Sceheme, has submitted his statement in the Supreme Court today on Tuesday, Aaj News reported.
In his statement he claimed that Bahria Town had no involvement in the charges put against the CJ’s son Arsalan Iftikhar or his father Malik Riaz. Contradicting the TV reports, he detached the company ‘Bahria Town’ from this suo motu case.
Advocate Ali Zafar submitted the statement on behalf of the Bahria Town CEO, stating that Bahria Town has no payable taxes or pending duties.
In the statement Ali Riaz denied the media allegations against Bahria Town, saying that the real owners of Bahria Town are him and his mother Beena Riaz. He said that his father Malik Riaz has no affiliation with Bahria Town as he had given his shares to them and resigned from his position as chairman of the town.
Tensions are at peak as Malik Riaz a key figure in the graft scandal, was reported to have arrived in Pakistan last night. Malik, through his lawyer Zahid Bukhari, had earlier claimed that he will come to Pakistan and present “explosive” evidence in the Supreme Court.
It should be noted that a earlier a petition was filed against Riaz Malik by Dr Shafiq-ur-Rehman, accusing him of murder and demanding his immediate arrest.
