PM calls FC meeting after conviction

After the court’s verdict, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is heading a meeting of the federal cabinet.

The meeting is called in the wake of Supreme Court’s decision to see the Prime Minister as guilty on the charges of contempt of court.

The Prime Minister was found guilty for failing to come up to the court’s order to write a letter, reopening the corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari, in the Swiss courts.

The Prime Minister was warmly welcomed by the cabinet members. He told the attending members that he did not ridicule the court’s decision at all.

Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif was absent from the meeting where as all other chief ministers were present to express their solidarity with the Prime Minister.

The cabinet is reviewing a possible appeal against the court’s verdict regarding the Prime Minister’s case.

The Prime Minister has also called upon an emergency meeting of the coalition partners at around 2 past noon, today.
