Meenakshi Thapar, an upcoming Bollywood actress, was kidnapped and later beheaded by two co-stars in an attempt to gain ransom worth 1.5 million Indian Rupees.
Some reports suggest that the actress was killed by her co-stars on the set of her new movie “Heroine”.
Amit Jaisawal and his love interest Preeti Surin allegedly decided to kidnap Ms. Thapar after they found her bragging about her family’s wealth and status, based in Dehra Dun, North India.
Reports further indicated that the two actors invited Ms. Thapar for a trip to Gorakhpur, a small town bordering Nepal. The two actors held Ms. Thapar captive and demanded a ransom of 1,500,000 Indian Rupees from her parents.
The mother of Ms. Thapar only managed to pay 60,000 Rupees but her daughter was killed shortly after the two actor received the cash.
Ms Thapar’s upper body was found dumped in a water tank and her head was found in a bag on the road connecting Mumbai and Gorakhpur.
Amit Jaiswal, 36, and Preeti Surin,26, were later apprehended and reportedly confessed to the murder.
Ms. Thapar, 26, worked in the Indian horror film “404”. She met the two actors, Jaiswal and Surin, while working on the movie “404”.
