NA expresses concern over Karachi killings

National Assembly on Thursday expressed deep concern over the recent target killings in Karachi which has claimed a number of innocent lives.

Taking part in the debate PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi said that law and order situation in Karachi has become a matter of concern among the masses and dozens of people are being killed in Karachi on daily basis.

He said as many as 350 people were killed in July and 1500 were gunned down during the last six months in Karachi and nobody knows who is responsible for this killing. Abbasi criticized the federal minister for interior for his absence from the House and asked the government to resolve the issue.

He said non issues are highlighted as issues only to divert the attention of the masses from real problems. Hanif Abbasi said that those are alleging Pathan and Muhajir are responsible for the unrest in Karachi are part of the conspiracy of anti state elements who want to destabilize the country.

MQM lawmaker, Sajid Ahmed said that the innocent people including children and women were being killed in Karachi and the writ of the government does not exist any where in the city.

He claimed extortionists were killing the traders over refusal to giving money to them.
