Bollywood badshah Shah Rukh Khan, who was coming home with his family after a long vacation in Holland and London, was stopped at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, for reportedly carrying more than twenty bags, by local custom officers.
Talking to a daily, a source said, “SRK had gone on a family holiday to Holland and London. On his way back he was carrying with him about 20 bags. Thus, the customs officials at airport interrogated him, while his family was allowed to go.”
“The interrogation was conducted by a team of deputy collector (Customs) Sameer Wankhede. Shah Rukh had to pay a duty of approximately Rs 1.5 lakh,” added the source.
According to officials, travellers are required to pay excess baggage fine.
Meanwhile, customs commissioner, P M Govande confirmed the news and said, “Yes, he was interrogated but it is a routine thing. Whenever people bring stuff they have to pay duty on it. It was nearly Rs 1.5 lakh and the interrogation took time because he was carrying a lot of stuff.”
