AJK elections to be free, fair: Firdous

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Sunday that the next elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) would be held in a fair and free manner. Addressing a press conference here, she said that all political parties were united for the Kashmir cause and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) had always raised voice for Kashmiris’ rights, without giving any consideration to political interests.
“Kashmir is a jugular vein of Pakistan and time has come to resolve the dispute peacefully (with India) by giving rights to the Kashmiris,” she added.
She said that elections on Kashmiri seats in Sialkot would be fair and transparent and no one would be allowed to rig them to ensure mandate of Kashmiris.
