Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Thursday met his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyoyev here and discussed wide-ranging issues to strengthen bilateral and economic ties.
The two leaders held a one-on-one meeting at the International Business Centre here, after which a formal round of talks started.
The Pakistan side included Minister for Privatization Syed Naveed Qamar, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar and Minister for Food and Agriculture Israrullah Zehri.
Gilani’s visit to Uzbekistan is part of his efforts for creating stronger ties with Central Asian states. He has recently paid official visits to Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
