US ups pressure on Pakistan over detained national

The Obama Administration has increased the pressure on Islamabad for the release of US national detained in Lahore.

A court in Lahore had charged the US national Raymond Davis with the murder of two Pakistnis he is presently held Kot Lakhpat Jail on 14-day judicial remand.

US senators John Kerry and John Boehner met with Pakistani ambassador to Washington Hussain Haqqani. Among other issues of common interest, the senators also put up the issue of Raymond Davis with the envoy.

The Islamabad envoy informed the senators about the progress in the Davis’ case.

The Pakistan Embassy, however, denied any pressure by the US administration in this regard.
