Six dead as car bombs rock north Iraq

Three near-simultaneous car bombs killed at least six people in the ethnically-divided northern city of Kirkuk on Wednesday, a senior Iraqi security official said.

Another 36 people were wounded in the triple attack at around 10:25 am (0725 GMT) in the west of the oil-rich city, a high-ranking police officer said, on condition of anonymity.

The officer said the blasts targeted a security building, a Sunni Turkman political party’s offices, and shops.
