PPP believes in politics of reconciliation: Rehman

Interior Minister, Rehman Malik has said that the PPP leadership does not believe in the politics of confrontation rather it is pursuing the politics of reconciliation.

Talking to media on arrival on Monday at Jinnah International Airport, he said the politics of ‘deadlines’ negates the very essence of Charter of Democracy.

He said that present government would complete its five years term as it has the public mandate which should be respected.

“Today there is no political prisoner in the country and the government has no intention to introduce the type of accountability that was once pursued by Saifur Rehman,” he added.

The Minister said that Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto always advocated the need of politics of friendship and reconciliation.

To a question about the strike by petrol pumps in Karachi on Monday, he said that the strike was un-called for as the petroleum prices increased in the international market.
