Pakistan, India to discuss all outstanding issues including Kashmir: FO

Foreign Office Spokesman Abdul Basit said on Thursday that all outstanding issues including Kashmir would be discussed in talks with India. He said, prior to the visit of Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi to India, the meetings at the level of respective secretaries will be held and the agenda of foreign ministers meeting of both sides will be finalized.
He said Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has welcomed progress in foreign secretaries’ meeting of India and Pakistan.
To a question he said, “We are hopeful of progress of talks between the two countries.”
To another question he said, Kashmir issue will also be discussed in talks with India as both sides have agreed to take the dialogue forward.
He said Pakistan and India would resume foreign ministers level talks in July when Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will visit India to hold talks with his counterpart to review progress in the dialogue process.
Abdul Basit said meetings of foreign secretaries of India and Pakistan held in Thimphu remained very positive and today both the countries decided to resume foreign minister talks.
He said resumption of dialogue process between India and Pakistan is a good omen for both the countries.
