Former captain Rashid Latif firmly believes that if Pakistan can win their quarter-final, they have greater chances of winning the Cricket World Cup.
“I don’t see any problem in Pakistan reaching the quarter-final from seven-team league format. If they triumph in quarter-finals that can greatly enhance their chances to win the crown at Mumbai,” he told APP in an interview here on Friday.
“As compared to past this two group league system suits Pakistan and it will be easy for them to reach the last eight rounds. I think the real competition starts from knock-out stage,” he pointed out.
“Pakistan team got a habit of hiccups in the league rounds. But once they reach the knock-out stage they become very confident and dangerous team to beat,” Rashid Latif, who played in 2003 World Cup in South Africa, remarked.
