The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Sports Division has decided not to renew the contracts of three tainted Pakistan players after the imposition different bans from International Cricket Council (ICC) tribunal in Doha recently.
“The contract of Salman Butt, Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Aamir has expired at the end of the year. After the ban we are not renewing it,” NBP Sports Chief and former Test left arm spinner Iqbal Qasim told APP on Monday.
Salman Butt received ten year including five suspended suspension, Asif got seven year ban with two year suspension and Aamir was banned for five by ICC Tribunal on spot-fixing charges after long hearing.
Opener Salman Butt and pace duo were representing NBP on the domestic circuit for over five years.
