Zaheer Abbas compliments Saddar Town’s Green Karachi

Former Pakistan cricket team Captain Zaheer Abbas Monday complimented the programme of Saddar Town Sports Festival in making Karachi green and free of pollution.

“Green Karachi is vital for development of good environment which is very vital for the biggest metropolis of the city,” he said while speaking at the opening ceremony of Sports Festival at KGA Gymkhana here.

Speaking as a chief guest, he called upon the youth to maintain strict discipline in sports as well as in life.

“Nothing can be achieved without imposing discipline in every sphere of life,” Zaheer Abbas, titled Asian Bradman for his outstanding batting records, said.

“A good citizen can be very benefitting and important for the country. Present cricket problems are related to lack of discipline among players,” he said.

He lauded the Saddar Town Administration and its chief Mukhtar Hussain for launching such a programme through sports.

Zaheer Abbas said Saddar Town has promoted and supported sports to help in nurturing the talent in their town.

In the opening match of Inter School T20 Cricket Tournament, Bayview High School defeated Nixor School by 7 wickets.

Administrator Saddar Town, Mukhtar Hussain vowed to continue to work for the betterment of sports through Green Karachi programme.

President KCCA Syed Siraj-ul-Islam Bukhari, Sports Officer Asif Azeem and other officials were also present.
