Meteorological department here has forecast cold, dry weather in the country for next 24 hours but rain with snowfall is expected in upper Punjab, upper Khyber pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir during next 24 hours.
Fog would decrease in the affected areas.
According to Met office sources, weather remained cold and foggy in most parts of the country.Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sukkar, Jhang and Okara remained under light fog during last 24 hours from midnight to morning.
The residents of the capital city basked in the much awaited sunshine while other parts of the plains of Punjab had weak sunshine at noon. Plain areas experienced lower temperature while residents of mountain areas had to face severe cold.
The temperature of Kalam dipped to minus 10, Kalat and Parachanar minus 9, and Skardu minus 7 degree celsius centigrade.
Minimum temperature of Lahore on Thursday was 2 degree celsius, Multan 4, Murree minus 2, Faisalabad 3 and Peshawar 4 degree centigrade.
Trains were continually behind the schedule due to fog. Up-country and down-country trains were late by 3 to 15 hours.Allama Iqbal Expreress, Karachi Express, Quetta Express,Jaffar Express and Karakarm Express reached their destinations late.
