President signs 19th Amendment Bill into law

President Asif Ali Zardari signed 19th Amendment Bill into the constitution on Saturday.

According to the details, the singing ceremony was held in Bilawal House Karachi. The said amendment had already been unanimously approved by both houses of the parliament.

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani had declared the 19th Amendment a result of democratic government and the policy of reconciliation.

Meanwhile, Federal Law Minister Dr Babar Awan said the amendment had become part of the constitution after it had been signed by the president.

“The amendment is a gift for the nation on the New Year eve”, added Babar.
