Power supply to improve within few months: DG PEPCO

Director General Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) Muhammad Khalid has said that the power scenario would be improved within a few months, and another 1150MW power would soon be added in the national grid.

Talking to a TV channel, he said that PEPCO is making every effort to mitigate the consumers’ hardships through enhancing the generation as well as ensuring proper load-management.

While, the hydel power generation would increase on re-opening of canals after January 31, he added.

DG PEPCO said the better hydrology would help to cater the loadshedding problem in summer.

To a question he said that the company had announced three to four hours loadshedding during desilting campaign, December 26 to January 31, which was being observed 10 to 12 hours in urban and rural areas.

He said efforts are underway to keep the shortfall at its minimum and our top most priority to provide power supply to the industry and agriculture sector.
