Police arrests eight alleged terrorists

The Karachi Police has arrested 8 alleged high-profile terrorists involved in series of targeted killings in the city.

“The arrests have been made from different parts of the city and the arrested people had belonged with a banned organisation,” said Capital City Police Officer (CCPO), Fayyaz Leghari while addressing a press conference here on Sunday.

The accused are involved in the murder of at least 12 people  and their ring leader is Tanvir Abbas, the CCPO added.

He said that the gang was involved in act of terrorism since March 2, 2009.

The culprits used to acquire snatched cars, motorcycles and illegal weapons as a modus operandi to accomplish their task, he added.

The CCPO did not give any information or identity of the accused due to security concerns.
