PMLQ expresses concerns over Karachi unrest

Blaming the government of its inability to control law and order in Karachi, Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PMLQ) Secretary General Mushahid Hussain said on Saturday that financial stability is dependent on peace in the port city.

PMLQ leadership met with Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh President Shahi Syed here at Mardan house to discuss the growing unrest in the provincial metropolis.

Addressing a joint press conference after the meeting, Mushahid said his party is consulting all stakeholders in the city and the process would continue in the future.

He stated the government had failed to provide security to the residents of Karachi.

PMLQ chief Chaudhary Shujaat was of the view that country leadership should, putting aside politics, focus on efforts for the improvement of law and order in the city that has become a battleground for different mafias operating in the city.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahi Syed thanked the PMLQ leadership for visiting Karachi and stressed the need of consensus and consultation for the betterment of country.
