NA committee seeks release of Rs 11.5 bln bail out package for Railways


The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Railways Thursday unanimously passed a resolution requesting the Prime Minister for releasing 11.5 billion bail out package for the Railways as soon as possible otherwise the PR operation will come to standstill.

The committee which met here under the chair of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, MNA took serious notice of the absence of Director Legal Railways and viewed if he fails to attend the next meeting, the committee would issue summon notice to him as per rules of Procedure of the National Assembly.

The committee issued instructions to General Manager, Railways to the effect that all divisional superintendents should be directed to have detailed meetings with the members of Parliament to workout the schedule of the trains as to take them into confidence before closure of passenger trains.
