MQM hosts lunch in honour of journalists from across Pakistan


Representatives and office- bearers of different media organisations and journalists’ bodies have called upon Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain to organise more programmes and welfare activities of his party across the country including Punjab province to portray a true and positive image and actual message of his party to the masses.

They said this while talking to MQM Chief via telephone at a lunch organised in honour of the media persons from all over Pakistan at Jinnah Ground, Azizabad here.

The journalists belonging to various media organisations and mediamen’s bodies also apprised Altaf Hussain about their views with regard to “Jalsa Qaumi Yakjehti” which was organised by his party on January 30.

MQM Chief Altaf Hussain addressed the event via telephone from London and welcomed all the journalists as well as enquired their well-being.

Talking to Altaf Hussain via telephone, the journalists congratulated him and termed the “Jalsa Qaumi Jakjehti” a great success and highly appreciated the discipline maintained by the MQM, party leaders, workers and all organisers of the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Altaf Hussain said he desires that educated people from poor-middle-class should come forward and serve the masses.

He said he has always taught party men to perform their duties with devotion, honesty and discipline.

He was of the view that the country needs honest, devoted people, who got education through their personal efforts and earned respect and position in the society with their hard work and struggle.

Speaking on the occasion, the representatives of different journalists organisations requested Altaf Hussain that more programmes and welfare activities of his party be organised in Punjab.

They said there is need to project true and positive image as well as to deliver the message of the party to the people in the Punjab province.

Altaf called upon the MQM-associated Parliamentarians to formally raise a question in the Senate to know the volume of total aid received and the amount spent on providing relief and rehabilitating the affectees of 2005-earthquake in Pakistan.

He also directed the Rabita Committee to form a media cell of MQM in Southern Punjab.

Deputy Convener MQM Rabita Committee, Dr. Farooq Sattar, members Rabita Committee, Wasey Jaleel, Dr. Sagheer Ahmed, Raza Haroon and other party leaders and office bearers were also present on the occasion.
