Akshay Kumar’s ‘Patiala House’ boosts an impressive line of ace cricketers. From biggies like Hershelle Gibbs to Wasim Akram, the film also features some controversial ones like Andrew Symonds. While the makers insist that PH focuses on father-son relationship, the enormous line of world class players makes the ‘relationship’ bit, more like the backdrop than the focus.
Speaking to a daily, a source revealed, “There is a huge list of cricketers that will put any IPL team. Cricketers like ex England captain Nassir Hussain, New Zealand`s Brendon McCullum, South African dashing opener Hershelle Gibbs, IPL`s most expensive player Kieron Pollard, the controversial Andrews Symonds, Pakistani wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal, Sri Lankan`s Tilakratne Dilshan, England`s legendary Graham Gooch, Pakistan`s Wasim Akram, and Australia`s Mathew Hayden are all part of the cricket matches that feature Akshay as one of the team members.”
However, director Nikhil Advani maintained that the film is actually about a strained relationship between a father and son and that cricket is the main reason for their conflict.
