Insufficient evidence against players

The chairman of a UK commission set up to investigate the spot fixing scandal, Rick Parry said that there is insufficient evidence against the alleged bookmaker Mazhar Majeed, who was recorded on camera accepting money from an undercover reports of News of the World.

He said that no evidence of illegal betting activity was found to back up the claims. The video footage of Mazhar Majeed shows him correctly telling the timing of three no-balls bowled by Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir during the Lord’s Test.

Parry credited the ICC for their initiative to police corruption their own issues, but added that more efforts need to be put for younger players.
