Rehabilitation of flood victims on govt’s top priority: Gondal

Federal Minister for Food Nazar Muhammed Gondal has said that the relief and rehabilitation of flood-affected people was the top priority of government and all available resources would be utilized for this purpose.

Talking to the media here after meeting the traders here on Saturday, the minister reiterated the government’s resolve to start the reconstruction of flood affected areas on war footing.

He said that Pakistan asked the international community to support the country not through aid but trade which could strengthen its economy and the common man.

To a question, the Federal Minister said that the reserves of wheat were sufficient for the whole year and there would be no shortage or crises.

To another question, he dismissed the speculation regarding the change of the government and added that PPP never took the remarks by Pir Sahab Pagara seriously.

Nazar Gondal said that PPP will prefer to sit on opposition benches if the government is changed through constitutional procedure.

He termed the alliance of different factions of Muslim Leagues as good omen for the democracy.

He urged the business community to invest more in the country and generate jobs.
