MQM expresses concerns over violence in city


Deputy Convener, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Rabita Committee and Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr. Farooq Sattar on Monday expressed concerns over increasing incidents of violence in the metropolis.

Addressing a press conference at Nine Zero, he said that the provincial government, particularly Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza was responsible for failure to curb target killings.

He said two Muttahida workers were killed during the last 24 hours. He said his party has filed the murder case of Dr. Imran Farooq in the court of Allah, the Almighty.

Dr. Farooq Sattar called upon the concerned authorities to take immediate notice of the incidents of violence in the city.

He said every one is aware of the efforts made by the MQM to maintain peace in the city after assassination of former convener of the MQM, Dr. Imran Farooq.

The MQM leader said we employed our all resources to maintain peace in the city.

Farooq Sattar said his party had announced ten days mourning after the murder of party leader Dr. Imran Farooq but we kept our relief efforts for the flood victims continued on humanitarian grounds.

He termed the murder of Dr. Imran Farooq in London as the biggest tragedy in the history of the party and said despite the tragic incident we showed patience and also appealed to the workers and supporters of the party to remain calm.

He said Quran khawani and fateha are being organized by the party men across the globe for Dr. Imran Farooq and tributes are also being paid to the slain leader.

Dr. Farooq Sattar said we strongly condemned the recent incidents of violence and call upon the concerned authorities to take immediate notice of the same and arrest the culprits involved in it.

He also appealed to the workers and sympathizers of his party to remain calm and organize the Quran khawani and fateha for Dr. Imran Farooq.
