MQM desires Dr. Imran’s burial in Karachi: Farooq Sattar

Senior MQM leader and Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr. Farooq Sattar has said his party was in touch with British authorities in London to repatriate the dead body of slain leader Dr. Imran Farooq.

Talking to newsmen here Friday, Dr. Sattar said that Metropolitan Police of London, the officials of Scotland Yard were in contact with the family members of Dr. Imran Farooq and investigating the case.

He hoped that the dead body will be handed over to the family as soon as the initial process of investigation and postmortem is completed.

“It is the desire of our party leaders that the last rituals of Dr. Imran are carried out in his home country,” Dr. Sattar said and added that the position will be clear in next 24 hours.

Dr. Farooq Sattar said the murder of Dr. Imran was a big tragedy for the party and this vacuum could not ever be fulfilled.

“Altaf Bhai and Imran Bhai had very close and indepth ties, he was an extra-ordinary man and Altaf Bhai gave Imran’s examples to other party leaders,” Dr. Sattar said.

He said the party leadership has urged the workers to remain calm and continue the mission of Dr. Imran.
