Federal Minister for Health Makhdoom Shahabuddin lauded the performance of health department for its remarkable role during the recent floods.
He was talking to newsmen during his visit of Thatta at EDO Health office Makli on Saturday.
He said about 1.5 million people have been affected from various diseases in flood affected areas, but only 126 expired in relief camps while others were treated.
He said that no woman expired during delivery in any medical camp for flood affected people. He said that majority of case were skin diseases in relief camps.
Makhdoom Shahabuddin said that medical camps in relief camps were doing good job round the clock for service of humanity.
He said that the government has decided to take action against fake doctors.
He also said that actions will be taken against blood banks for spreading Hepatitis diseases due to infected blood.
District Coordination Officer (DCO) Manzoor Shaikh and Executive District Officer (EDO) Health Dr. Dhani Bux Thebo briefed the minister about health sector in the district.
Earlier, the minister visited various relief camps and medical camps for flood affected people.
MNA Dr.Abdul Wahid Soomro, MPA Sadiq Memon, Civil Surgeon Thatta Dr.Ghulam Mustafa Memon and concerned officials were present at the occasion.
