A charity gala which brought together a host of British Asian celebrities from the world of music, radio, TV and fashion raised fifteen thousand pounds for the Pakistan flood victims.
The Floods Disaster Charity Gala was held here last evening at an East London theater which drew a very large audience that thoroughly enjoyed the event.
The star-studded event saw special performances from Canadian pop sensation Raghav collaborating with British rapper Bashy, and British Asian rap star Shizzio teaming up with American RB and Hip Hop superstar TQ.
Manchester pop duo Bonafide also gave a world exclusive performance of their charity single ‘Jeevay Pakistan’ (Long Live Pakistan) to rapturous applause.
Model and presenter Gulzaeb Beg Ali and charismatic TV/Radio broadcaster, Murtz were hosts for the evening where the amount was raised for the DEC appeal, all of which will go towards helping rebuild the South Asian country hit by the disastrous floods.
As well as the host of famous faces lending their support to the event, guests were also entertained by Britain’s Got Talent stars the Shaolin Dance Group, who provided an explosive opening to the night.
The stunning and breath-taking opening was closely followed by comedian Hyde Panesar, superb performances by British Hindi singer Navin Kundra, Pakistani producer Khiza, Pakistani singer Ally Nash and magician and hypnotist Ravi Mayar.
Event organisers Amit Bhatia and Sid Chikte from Voodoo Entertainment said of the hugely successful evening: “It’s great to see such an amazing turn out. Over 400 people bought tickets to be here and helped us raise much needed funds for the DEC Pakistan appeal. All our celebrities, fashion houses and contributors donated their services for free and we are so thankful to them all for getting on board.”
The charity auction on the night was a signed boxing glove donated by World Champion boxer Amir Khan who recently visited Pakistan and helped distribute aid to the needy people in Charsadda and Nowshera.
