Sialkot tragedy: CM gives 48 hours deadline for arrest of accused

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has given a deadline of 48 hours to Punjab Inspector General of Police Tariq Saleem Dogar for arresting all the accused including the fugitive accused police officials involved in this national tragedy, in which some infuriated people had brutally tortured to death the two innocent youths in Sialkot on August 15.

He directed the senior police officials to arrest the accused within the 48 hours deadline given to police, otherwise get ready to face the music. CM termed this police negligence as intolerable and held police responsible for this inhuman tragedy.

CM gave this deadline for the arrest of all the accused to IG Police Punjab while talking to the newsmen at the residence of MNA Khawaja Muhammad Asif in Sialkot Cantt here on Sunday evening.

CM said that police was equally responsible in this tragedy, as the police officials remained present on the spot and played silent spectator’s role in this inhuman incident.

PML-N Chief Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have expressed condolence with the grieved family. They expressed grave concern over the brutal murders. They offered Fateha and assured the speedy justice to the grieved family, besides, assuring the early arrest of the accused, in this regard.
