Rehabilitation of 20m flood affectees top priority of OIC: Ihsanoglu

OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has said that the whole Ummah is committed to fully support Pakistan for the relief and rehabilitation of flood affected areas.

Addressing a joint news conference along with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi here Sunday, he said relief and rehabilitation of twenty million flood affectees is the top most priority of the OIC and the Islamic countries.

He assured to take immediate measures for the provision of foods to the victims.

The OIC Secretary General said that the Islamic countries will provide all out assistance needed by Pakistan to overcome this calamity.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said Pakistan is grateful to OIC to giving task to its Secretary General for motivating Ummah to respond to such disaster and creation of a fund. He said the Secretary General has also been asked to put up a plan of rehabilitations of affectees in the next OIC summit in Egypt.

The Foreign Minister said that the foreign office is working day and night to convey a strong message to the international community to come forward and help Pakistan in this difficult time.
