Navy relief operation `Madad’ continues in Sindh

Pakistan Navy is continuing rescue and relief operations in Thul, Kandhkot/Ghospur, Rohri/Sukkur, Khairpur, Nawabshah, (Benazirabad) and Noshero Feroz areas.

A Pakistan Navy statement issued here on Sunday said that PN rescue teams have evacuated more than 77,000 people to safer places.

It said that PN Hovercrafts, helicopter and boats are deployed for rescue operations.

Medical teams are also providing medical treatment to patients for various diseases.

To date, Pakistan Navy has provided 43,850 kg food and relief goods to flood victims through helicopters. 5,700 kg ready-to-cook packaged food, 1,000 kg dates and 5,000 kg food has been dispatched to Sukkur.

Additionally, 10,000 kg of food is being arranged for affected areas.

PN helicopters also air-dropped 8,500 kilograms of food and relief goods in Thal, Ghospur and Mirpur areas.

PN Commander Logistics Rear Admiral Khalid Amin visited PN Relief Headquarters at Sukkur, Ghospur.
