Floodwater enters Shahdadkot

The flood tide entered into the Shahdadkot city after breaching the safety embankment built to save the city while the evacuation towards safer areas was underway.

Heavy machinery was being used to fill the gap as 20 feet wide breach has been occurred, private news channel reported on Saturday.

According to the reports, 90 per cent of the city has been evacuated.

The surging floodwater coming from Garhi Khairo hit the newly built ring-embankment around the town today and breached it and gushing water entered into the city.

Army and police personnel had been deployed to face any untoward situation.

Meanwhile, in district Thatta, protective embankment for the River Indus at Minarki has been declared sensitive and irrigation and revenue officials have been deployed.
