Targeted killing: ANP’s leader shot dead in Karachi

Unknown armed men gunned down two persons including Awami National Party leader Ubaidullah Yousuf Zai on Thursday. The incident took place near Cargo Terminal Karachi Airport.

ANP has announced 3 days mourning on the death of Ubaidullah Yousuf Zai.

Violence erupted in various areas of Karachi after the incident. Several firing incidents where reported in Gulistan-e-Johar, Abul Hasan Isphani Road, Quaidabad, Sultanabad, Banaras, Saddar and Orangi. Angry mob threw stones at vehicles on National Highway near Quaidabad. A bus was also torched in Sultanabad area. Two vehicles were reportedly torched at Abul Hasan Isphani Road.

Information Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa Mian Itikhar Hussain condemned the targeted killing of ANP’s leader and demanded judicial inquiry into the matter.

Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan called ANP’s leader Asfandyar Wali Khan to discuss the situation of Karachi.
