Israel’s Supreme Court president fell backwards and suffered bruises when she was hit in the forehead by a shoe thrown during court proceedings on Wednesday, public radio reported.
A man in his fifties stood up during the session and hurled a pair of sneakers, yelling “corrupt” and “rotten,” the radio said.
Bailiffs seized the man, who apparently felt wronged by a court decision, media said.
The judge’s husband, Yeheskiel Beinish, said she was hit on the forehead and the nose and that her glasses were broken.
