125,000 Lady Health Workers to be trained

Ministry of Population Welfare has decided to extend the training facilities to the Lady Health Workers (LHWs) and Lady Health Visitors (LHVs).
The decision was taken in a meeting which was attended by senior representatives of the Ministry of Population Welfare and Ministry of Health.
The meeting was told that purpose to expedite this mutual co-operation and training facility between these two Ministries was to achieve the target of training programs for 1,25,000 LHWs on reproductive health and family planning method.
It was agreed that all LHWs and LHVs belonging to Health Ministry should be trained on family planning and reproductive health issues. However, the meeting was informed that work has been already started on these lines.
The directorate of clinical training Wing of Ministry of Population Welfare has already trained 40 Master Trainers of Ministry of Health at national level.
It was informed that Health Ministry also held two training workshops for Lady Health Workers Supervisors on Family Planning issues.
Secretary Population Welfare informed the meeting that his Ministry was extending its programmes and projects in collaboration with different Ministries and social sector.
