Arsenal’s French striker Thierry Henry said on Saturday he hopes to return to competition for their FA Cup tie against Liverpool on January 6.
The 29-year-old has been sidelined since November 29 after suffering a sciatic nerve problem and a thigh injury. In his absence Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor has been in excellent form inspiring his side to a 2-2 comeback on Saturday against Portsmouth.
“I think I’ll miss all the Christmas period but I hope to come back early in the New Year. It would be good to return against Liverpool in the FA Cup. But we’ll see, maybe it will be a little later,” Henry wrote in the programme for the Arsenal versus Portsmouth match.
“I hope to make the most of the rest. But you can rest assured I’ll be back as hungry as ever.”
